Each year, GRESB assesses and benchmarks the ESG performance of assets worldwide, providing clarity and insights to financial markets on complex sustainability topics. This year, it set a new standard to provide a more rigorous assessment of sustainability practices, new asset-level benchmarks, and enhanced alignment with emerging investor priorities.

“Beacon’s steady leadership in implementing and reporting ESG initiatives is a result of our long history of commitment to advancing sustainability,” said Beacon Capital Partners President and CEO Fred Seigel. “The recognition by GRESB year in and year out is a result of our focus on best practices for our buildings, tenants, visitors, and employees, as well as our communities.”
The GRESB Assessments are guided by what investors and the industry consider to be material issues in the sustainability performance of asset investments and are aligned with international reporting frameworks, goals, and emerging regulations. The GRESB ESG Benchmark covered USD 7 trillion of gross asset value across 80 markets, encompassing more than 2,200 property companies, REITs, funds, and developers.

GRESB data are used by hundreds of capital providers and thousands of asset managers to benchmark investments across portfolios and to better understand the opportunities, risks, and decisions that need to be made as the industry transitions to a more sustainable future.
“The results of this year’s GRESB Assessments are a testament to the progress being made across the sector. It’s clear that our participants are helping set new standards in sustainability,” said Sebastien Roussotte, CEO of GRESB.
